HiP Eats: Le Fooding d’Amour

On Friday night, the HiP crew came out in full force to attend Le Fooding d’Amour Paris – New York. Sarah, Geneviève and I joined the mayhem at P.S.1 in order to sample innovative cuisine from some of today’s hottest New York and Paris-based chefs.

The evening got off to a frenetic start, as there was a bit of a mob scene at the entrance. Once inside, hungry foodies dashed to and fro, sampling barbecued sirloin steak from Christophe Pelé (Bigarrade, Paris), Bo Ssäm from David Chang (Momofuku, New York), marinated pork ribs from William Ledeuil (Ze Kitchen Galerie, Paris), and I’m pretty sure I ate a chicken neck handed to me by Wylie Dufresne himself (WD-50, New York).

All in all, not a bad way to spend an evening. It’s good to know we’ve moved past “freedom fries” and that the Franco-American bond lives on.

Tory HoenAfter attending Brown University and spending two years in New York, Tory bought a one-way ticket to Paris to pursue her dream of becoming a writer (and of drinking wine at lunch). During her time in the City of Light, she chronicled the euphoric highs and the laughable lows of ex-pat life on her blog, A Moveable Beast. Though she's now based in New York, she travels frequently to Montreal and Brazil, and she'll use just about any excuse to jet to Paris ("I ran out of fleur de sel"). A regular contributor to Hip Paris, Tory also writes for New York Magazine, Time Out New York, and she is a co-author of Gradspot.com's Guide To Life After College.
