Monmartre’s legacy as Paris’ artistic epicenter continues this weekend, when the annual “Portes Ouvertes Montmartre” returns. For three days only, the artists of Montmartre will open the doors of their ateliers (artist space) to the public. On November 13th (from 6pm-9pm) and November 14th and 15th (from 11am-8pm), don’t miss your chance to stroll the neighborhood, following your artistic whims and letting your curiosity guide you.

Begin your tour at the welcome area located at 8 rue Milton, 75009 (tel: 01 40 23 02 92). Here you can familiarize yourself with the different participating artists and plan out which ateliers you would like to visit along your route.

Otherwise, for a listing of all participating artists and a map of the neighborhood, go to this link and click on “Affiche Portes Ouvertes 2009 – verso.”

  1. [...] weekend, HiP friend and jeweler Beatrice Knoch is participating in “Portes Ouvertes” in Montmartre. This is a great opportunity to stop by her atelier to see her unique jewelry and to meet the woman [...]

  2. This is an amazing way to discover Paris and the wonderful neighborhood of Montmartre. Also, you get to see the apartments and lofts where the artists live and create. I highly recommend. One of my favorite spots is Beatrice Knock on 17 rue Andre Del Sartre in the 18th (Metro Anvers or Abbesses). She makes amazing jewelry (and speaks fluent English). You will find her on the program. I but most of my jewelry from her and always get lots of compliments. – Erica
