The delightful Meg, from De Quelle Planète Es-tu, is not the type to idle her summer away. Always on the lookout for the next hip hangout, she shares her discovery of Saint Germain’s freshest new place to grab breakfast, lunch or a mouth-watering pastry. -Geneviève

Colorova, Paris’ latest neo bakery, opened quietly in August — just in time to welcome hungry foodies back to Paris for the rentrée. Colorova is an atypical patisserie shop and salon de thé, located in the 6th arrondissment, with a menu for breakfast, brunch and lunch, depending on the day and time you pop in.

I stumbled upon it while walking around in the area. I was excited to realize that it happened to actually be breakfast time just then, so a stop-in seemed like the perfect spontaneous thing to do. We were greeted with the entrance’s glowing touches of color and modern elements. I was mesmerized by the organization of the precious pastries and the space’s clean and fresh look.

Their entryway will get you with their mint SMEG fridge and colorful woven chairs, but I was even more excited to see the back room with plentiful table space, ready for hungry food lovers to settle in and dig into what the chefs have to offer.

The breakfast menu included a daily pastry, delicious breads and jams, a hot beverage as well as a fruit salad and freshly squeezed juice. Our daily pastry was home made French toast and I am still dreaming of it. The fried egg I added on €1,50 was also sublime. Their brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays, and they do sandwiches and a lunch menu in the afternoons.

Colorova is open everyday, so pop in for a treat to go, breakfast or even just for an afternoon tea with good company.
