Head to the 18th tomorrow evening for an Artisinal Soap Workshop at one of our favorite eco eateries, LaREcyclerie, put on in conjunction with Fraiche Cosmetics and event-planner extraordinaire, Sinny & Ooko.
The Musée des Arts Decoratifs is opening a new retrospective tomorrow entitled Roger Tallon, le design en mouvement. Tallon was an Industrial Design pioneer, known for his work on grandiose projects, like the TGV and Montmartre funicular, but also more creative works, like the branding for Art Press. The exposition follows his 60 years of impressive work and is on view until early January.
For a little mélange of food and music this weekend, check out Foodamour Festival at La Clairière in the Bois de Boulogne. You can gain free entry until 22h with a simple Facebook page like, then proceed to enjoy the eco-friendly fest; all food is organic and all waste to be properly recycled.
The Cinémathèque Francaise is celebrating 60 years of Japanese film history this fall with the opening its L’Écran japonais on September 14th (running until next June). Director Pascal-Alex Vincent has created a program of screenings and the gallery space will be displaying stunningly intricate kimonos, Hiroshi Mizutani watercolors, original film posters, and more.
From September 16 – 18, prepare to experience food in an entirely fresh way. Originating in Berlin, Food Art Week is coming to Freegan Pony this month. The weekend will feature over 20 events –performances, workshops, dining experiences, and more – all centered around the intersection of food and art, with a specific focus on food sustainability and food waste, topics we talk about often here at HiP Paris..
The Paris cocktail scene has been moving and shaking in recent years, and this September 23 – 26 you’re invited to taste some of the best at Cocktail Street, a weekend-long event taking place at Les Docks at Cité de la Mode et du Design. There will also be noshes by street food experts, Le Food Market.
This year’s Grand Fooding event, Plats de Résistance, is taking on a new angle. A collaboration between Le Fooding and S.Pellegrino, the September 24th event is set to focus on “humanist gastronomy” by showcasing food as a common social binder. The day will feature fare from chefs around the globe, spread across five separate seatings. And five euros from every ticket purchased will be donated to SOS MEDITERRANÉE, a European rescue association that gives assistance to people in distress in the Mediterranean sea. Enjoy good food while doing a bit of good too? Yes please.
