November Events in Paris: Le Clan des Madones, Coutume Lab, Paris Photo, and more

HiP Paris Blog, freakgirl, Cupcake Camp, November Events

Cupcake Camp (freakgirl & Cupcake Camp)

Leave it to Le Fooding to get 13 of the best names in the food and wine industry cooking together in one room. Mark your calendars, November 15 – 17 are my favorite two days this month. With Le Clan des Madones, Le Fooding is bringing together a group of incredible female chefs in a parking-garage-turned-pop-up-restaurant and giving them carte blanche to cook two services for seatings of 50 each evening.

To die for! Just a few of the participants include Camille Fourmon of La Buvette de Camille, Laura Vidal of Frenchie, Adeline Grattard of Yam’Tcha… You get the idea. The first round of tickets sold out quickly (no surprise there), but another ticket release is set for November 12. Oh and did we mention part of the proceeds go to the charity Les Enfants du Congo-Béthanie?

HiP Paris Blog, Aisling Greally, Fall Fashion

Long walks along the Seine, beautiful sunsets, light drenched streets, the feel of crisp golden leaves under your feet, Autumn in Paris is truly spectacular. Cool, fresh mornings are met by warm Indian summer afternoons.

The kind of weather when you crave layers and those essential pieces to take you from warm to cold and from day to night.

Cosy 2 Go
To start the season in style, find the cosiest café, order a warm café crème and wrap up in a snug sweater. As cosy as it is chic, a cashmere sweater, slightly oversized, worn with jeans, flats or biker boots will take you seamlessly from café to bistro and right through to Spring. Continue Reading »

Paris in the Fall: A Few Of Our Favorite Things

HiP Paris Blog, Carin Olsson, Autumn in Paris

Autumn has never really been my favorite season, mostly because I know what will come after it… That dreaded winter. But if the winter didn’t exist, autumn would probably be one of my favorite times of the year.

The colors are absolutely beautiful, the fashion gets more interesting and the city becomes a little easier to handle without those millions of tourists and sweaty, steamy métro rides.

So let’s try to ignore the fact that winter is approaching for a minute and enjoy the wonderful things about autumn in Paris while we can. Continue Reading »

London Is Buzzing In the Fall: Frieze Art Fair, Bonfire Night and More

Skate at Somerset House (slimmer_jimmer)

As autumn draws in, the cultural goings-on of London start to head inside and ratchet the pressure up a few notches: bigger, heavier hitting fairs and events are scattered throughout the season. October brings out the big guns of Frieze Art Fair and the BFI London Film Festival. There are major, in-depth art shows, classic ballets and of course, fireworks lighting up the sky on Bonfire Night.

Royal Academy: Bronze 15 Sept – 9 Dec
The Royal Academy calls it “a celebration of bronze on a scale never attempted before.” This means works in bronze spanning the last 5000 years from every continent. Arranged thematically in groups, the exhibition includes Ancient Greek, Roman and Etruscan bronzes, rare Medieval examples, the Renaissance (Ghiberti, Donatello, Cellini), all the way through to the present day via works by Rodin, Boccioni, Picasso, Jasper Johns, Moore, Beuys and Bourgeois.
