There are a few very good , well established Lunch Places on the East side .. walk down 5th Avenue one day ..
devon & blakely, Eataly .. now my mind has gone blank but there are plenty of places .. we would grab a lunch , eat it in the park, then spend the rest of the day in the Met.. a perfect day 🙂

Having just moved to Paris I frequent Alain, My new sandwich guy at the march frequently. He still does that great veg crepe, (ask for beaucoup de Fin and you won’t be disappointed!!), his flamboyant Frenchness and love for his customers (you always get something free!) always makes this a fantastique day of the week. Excited to try out some new places too! Btw, don’t miss out on th incredible oil shop and vintage photography shop at the very back of the enfants rouges… Awesome in a tin!

Went to ‘Alain’ and i had my hopes up! I am sure his food is amazing (as the ingredients looked fresh, and surprisingly fragrant) but i was bewildered by the lack of care for the food. Not one ingredient went by untouched! He treated the food as if it were for wild animals! i was very disappointed as i was looking forward to his, so called, “Mouth watering food”, but my rumbling tummy was healed with a Cococook feast. I was very impressed, which, reassuringly, made up for the untouched crepe.

You did not introduce me to ‘Alain’ and i can see why…keeping him to yrself.
NYC does NOT have designer lunch places as far as I know, with verrine-like plastic containers of color-coded layered food and it makes me sick.
Sometimes NYC sucks 🙁
