The second edition of the Villette Street Festival kicked off yesterday and runs until the 17th. Focusing on a variety of expressions of street culture, the two-week event features performances in music, dance, sports, and more… and don’t miss the block parties and food trucks too. Le grand salon d’art abordable at La Bellevilloise gives visitors a chance to view and purchase affordable pieces in a casual setting, the perfect excuse to give your walls a little makeover. Check out over 400 works from May 15 – 17; entry is just 5 euros.
Head to the Place de la Republique on May 16th to partake in Fairpride, France’s largest festival dedicated to fair trade, ecological business practices, and social causes. The day kicks off at 11 and runs until 20h30, featuring food tastings, a slam poetry session, a participative mural painting with street artist Kashink, and more.

After wrapping up at Fairpride, continue the day’s activities into the evening at Nuit des Musées. This Museum Night offers visitors entry into a number of gallery spaces across the city for a fresh way to experience exhibitions on view, well into the evening.

May also promises two different editions of annual open studios series. First head to Père Lachaise this coming weekend then to Belleville from May 23 – 25 for spring weekends of strolling in and out of artists’ studio spaces, getting a glimpse into not only their work but their processes too.
Coming off April’s big foodie events, like Super Barquette and Le Fooding’s Priceless Souper, May brings Taste of Paris to the Grand Palais from May 21 – 24, under the patronage of Alain Ducasse and Joel Robuchon. To buy tickets for the lunches and dinners over the three-day event, peek here.
