Le Fooding returns with its 10th edition of Veillées Foodstock on May 12th. The event joins chefs (from the likes of Le Petit Keller, Gravity Bar, Le Grand Bain) and new-wave French musicians (including Isaac Delusion, Papooz and Cléa Vincent) for a night of carnivorous cuisine, craft beer, and live music.
The Centre Pompidou and Arte Radio join forces for a Soirée sonore on May 18. From 7pm-11pm, guests are invited – free of charge – to explore the museum against a musical backdrop, with live concerts, performances, audio immersions, and guided museum visits. What’s not to love about a festival called “Taste of Paris”? From May 18 – 21, The Grand Palais transforms into a foodie wonderland, with the capital’s greatest chefs and regional producers present. The event boasts 19 pop-up restaurants, libations by the likes of Laurent-Perrir and Petit Ballon, masterclasses, and a gourmet market so you can bring the best French products home with you.
If design tickles your fancy more than food, head to the Exhibition Center at Porte de Versailles for Les Puces du Design. Separated into three spaces, the fest offer something for every design taste: The Village of Vintage Design presents an eclectic mix of wares from the 50s – 2000, The Village of Contemporary Design presents post-2000 modern designs, and The Village of Vintage Fashion presents an selection of iconic high-end clothing and accessories.
The evening of May 20th marks the multi-national Nuit Européene des Musées, an arts event unlike any other. Museums around France, and Europe at large, open their doors – free of charge – until midnight, presenting guided visits, ateliers, projections, tastings, and live shows.
Sundays in France can be sleepy, but May 28th is an exception. Head to the Parc des Vincennes in the 12th arrondissement for Mad Market, an atypical marché that celebrates local products, sustainable consumption, and wellness.
