Music festival season continues in Paris in the month of August, with a wide range of events to please fans of diverse genres of music. Lovers of classical music will want to block every weekend from August 11 to September 2 for Classique au Vert, a concert series that takes place in the Parc Floral de Vincennes.

Every August Rock en Seine brings international rock and pop acts to the Parc St. Cloud. From August 24-26 the Rock en Seine stage will welcome headliners including Justice and Macklemore as well as a number of other acts including Liam Gallagher and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

August is a great time to enjoy cultural events in Paris that are suited to the whole family. The Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie continues to host its exhibit on Special Effects and the Canal de L’Ourcq transforms into an open air venues for concerts, film screenings, pop up bars, and more during L’été du Canal. Other fun events include a guided visit of a rooftop vegetable garden at Peas and Love (August 4) and Hula Hoop Lessons at Le Jardin Suspendu (August 5).

Some of the best kid-friendly August events in Paris take place at the Science Museum.

Sports fans will be happy to find out that Paris is hosting the 10th edition of the international Gay Games from August 4 to 12. Athletes from over 70 countries will come to the capital to compete in summer sports ranging from swimming to beach volleyball, even bowling! The event is accompanied by cultural festivities including concerts, parties and an ephemeral bustling Gay Games village located in front of Paris’ City Hall.
