April Events in Paris: Mois de la Photo, Jabberwocky, Natural Wine & More

April marks Paris’ annual photography month. More than 80 exhibitions are being held around the city in celebration, but we’re especially excited about Robert Mapplethorpe at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in the Marais, opening on the 11th.

La Philharmonie de Paris kicks off a four-month exhibition celebrating the history of Jamaica. Entitled “JAMAICA JAMAICA! From Marley to deejays,” the show commemorates the post-colonial history and its effects on contemporary popular music.

Paris has been perfectly spring-like the past few weeks, with Parisians taking to the city’s terraces and parks. If you want a fresh outdoor activity and don’t mind getting your hands a little dirty, consider Paris’ various gardening programs taking this this month, from a composting 101 atelier to a conference on the importance of community gardening.

Jabberwocky

In honor of the release of their new EP, Make, pop-electro trio, Jabberwocky, returns to Paris’ L’Olympia on April 21st. Known for dance-inducing hits, like Photomaton, and compelling collaborations, like their chilling Fog video, the show is sure to be a good time.

From April 29 – May 1, La Bellevilloise will be home to the 5th edition of “Salon Sous les pavés la vigne,” a natural wine fair co-hosted by Munchies France. Entry is 10eur and comes with a tasting glass to enjoy a vast selection of wines from around France and the world.
