If a springtime weekend out of the city is in order, we suggest heading north to Seine-Saint-Denis for Banlieues Bleues. The festival features a slew of jazz concerts, and given that this is the event’s 32nd year, they certainly know how to put together a fabulous lineup. Get your tickets soon, as the festival wraps on April 17.

The buzzworthy Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition opened this week at the Grand Palais, and it is certainly a must-see. You have some time, as the show is on view until August 3, but I’m not sure you’ll be able to wait that long. If last year’s exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum in New York is any indication, I can wholeheartedly say this will be a sublime look into the brilliant madness of Gaultier and his iconic work.

Table Ronde is on a roll these days. Coming off the Paris Pop-up residency last month, the supperclub is playing host to Céline Pham from April 7 – May 2. A recognizable name on the Paris food scene, Pham has cooked at the likes of Septime and ChezAline, and is now bringing her take on Vietnamese cuisine – and stories of her experiences there – to Table Ronde. Lunches will be held Tuesdays-Saturdays and dinners Fridays and Saturdays, but be sure to reserve your spot quickly. They’re nearly fully booked.

Amuse Gueule, a project started by Lina Caschetto and Alice Quillet, is a fresh take on group storytelling. Inviting a mix of chefs, servers, sommeliers, and more, the series gives guests a look at what goes on behind closed restaurant kitchen doors. The third and final event in the current series, themed “Under the Influence,” is taking place April 12 at Le Bal Café and you can find more information here.

If you’ll be in Paris the weekend of April 17 – 19, block your calendars entirely. You’ll want to spend the full three days at Wanderlust for Super Barquette. An unprecedented number of our favorite restaurants will be represented, serving up their streetfood fare to visitors. The event is in its second year, and after an overwhelmingly popular response last year, you will have to pay for entry this time around. However, a ticket will run you a mere 5€/day for entry and a few additional euros per dish.

From April 19 – 26 the Festival Les Plans d’Avril returns for another year of varied performing arts events in locations around the city. Most are centered at Le Carreau du Temple in the 3ème, but be sure to peek at the lineup and ticketing information here.

We wrap up the month’s foodie events on April 21 with a Priceless Souper at Il Brigante in the 18ème, courtesy of the ever-impressive Le Fooding. This meal is an Italian collaboration of sorts, bringing Chefs Salvatore Rotiroti (best pizzaioli in the Guide Fooding 2014 and bossman at Il Brigante) and Simone Tondo (of Roseval, deemed “Best Table” in the Guide Fooding 2013) together for a menu “pizzanomique.”

Great insider recommendation and the food looks incredible-great photography 🙂 I was in Paris 2 weeks ago myself and fell in love with the street art and Fondation Louis Vuitton-very modern and chic! I also have a lifestyle photography blog: http://www.katcaprice.com/blog1/paris-with-kayne/26/3/2015 x

Great list! I went to the Amuse Gueule and Priceless Soupers events last month and they were both lots of fun. Looking forward to going to both again in April. I missed the food truck festival last year but heard it was pretty disorganized so hoping it will be different this time around. Certainly a great line-up! Now just how to decide which days to go! Might have to just go for all three…
Just want to say thanks for putting these lists together each month! This one has a bunch of events I would definitely not have heard about otherwise!
