Solidays, Seb
Paris has been dealt an unfortunate hand recently, from nationwide strikes to the Seine flooding its banks. However, the city is still very much alive and kicking off June with some wonderful events.
Fête de la Musique, Croix Rouge Française à Paris
The summer 2016 music festival set is upon us, starting this weekend with electronic Weather Festival from today through Sunday and the hip We Love Green – featuring artists like LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Hot Chip, and Hudson Mohawke – tomorrow and Sunday. The seven-week-long Paris Jazz Festival begins next Saturday, the 11th, and has a packed line-up of groove running until July 31st. We close out the month with the Fête de la Musique, a France-wide music celebration with performances that run the genre gamut dotting the capitol on June 21, and Solidays – featuring performances by Flume, Synapson, Cypress Hill, and plenty more – from June 24 – 26.
LaPlage de Glazart, Coup d’Oreille
LaPlage de GlazArt, a funky outdoor space on the edge of the 19th arrondissement, opened this week and has impressive programming throughout the summer. We’re especially excited for Bistronomie Club this Sunday, bringing together eats by Dersou, The Beast, Frenchie To Go, Hero, and more.
Champs-Élysées, Frank Camp
Want to add a little creativity to the weekend? The Grand Piquenique des Batignolles, this Sunday from 10am-8pm in the Parc Clichy-Batignolles, combines a gourmet food market, workshops, yoga classes, games, and more.
It’s not terribly often we recommend hanging out along the busy Champs-Élysées, but next week is an exception. The Champs-Élysées Film Festival, highlighting Franco-American cinema, is running from June 7 – 14. Screenings are 6eur each, or you can purchase a festival pass for full-week access.
Solidays, Adrian Tombu
An 80-person banquet centered around convivial company, fresh and seasonal fare, and locally brewed beer pairings? Enter The Montreuil Banquet on June 10th, put on by Les Diners Bons and featuring food by Les Marmites Volantes Montreuil and beer pairings by Fontenay-sous-bois’ Brasserie Outland.
The Champs-Élysées Film Festival; Les Diners Bons, Emma Stencil
On June 18th, head to A la folie’s Playa del Ourq. Located on the edge of the Parc de la Villette, along the Canal de L’Ourq, the café-bar will have its terrace open, Patrick Thevenin spinning tunes, and BBQ grilling all day.
