By the time June rolls around in Paris the natives start feeling justified in planning their social life around being outside. Luckily the city’s social calendar follows suit by suggesting plenty of festivals and outdoor events to accommodate Vitamin D deprived urbanites.
Festival de Champs Élysées/We Love Green
From June 2-3 the We Love Green festival brings together indie to electro music, mixing French acts with internationally known groups. This year Björk headlines, sharing the bill with top acts including Beck, Charlotte Gainsbourg, The Internet, and Tyler the Creator.

Warm weather and cold beer are a perfect pairing, which is why the first week of June is an ideal time for Paris Beer Week. Ten days of tastings, tap takeovers, beer pairings, and collaborations across the city animate the fifth edition Paris Beer Week, which culminates in a Grand Finale featuring the best craft brewers in France and abroad.
Louvre/Paris Beer Week
Starting June 7 the Louvre will expose their collection of pastels, featuring 120 works that highlight the scope and intricacies of the medium. Fans of the sixth art should head to the Champs Elysées from June 12-19 for the Champs Elysées Film Festival which features films from France and the United States. Aspiring artists will delight in a water color masterclass given by local illustrator and author Jessie Kanelos Weiner at La Cuisine Paris on June 24.

June will be a particularly fun month for anti-gaspillage activists thanks to the Fête de la Récup and the Festival Zero Waste, both of which encourage visitors to reuse, recycle, and rethink their relationship to waste.
Fête de la Recup
As always, the summer solstice is celebrated in France with the Fête de la Musique. This year the event falls on Thursday June 21 and will be commemorated with music in the streets and various venues across Paris. Music lovers also won’t want to miss the Paris Jazz Festival at the Parc Floral, which kicks off on June 30.

There are few people in France who can resist a bout of bargain hunting in late June, when the annual soldes, or sales, take place. From June 27 to August 7 discount prices bring out the shopper in us all.
