June is the official start of Paris’ summer season, the beginning of months of fun under the sun. In addition to our favorite recurring June music festivals and events (more info below), this month is full of dates to add to your social calendar and there’s something for everyone, from foodies and art lovers to bargain hunters and apéro seekers.
Kick off the month with an exposition devoted to cult street art icon Banksy at the Musée du Graffiti, which takes place for a limited time only: 2-6pm on June 1. Later this month head to the Louvre to check out two new exhibitions that open on June 27: Italian drawings from the Collection Mariette and drawings from the artist Antoine-Jean Gros.

From June 20-23, the 20th arrondissement street art festival Et 20 l’Eté features free performances and exhibitions from local artists as well as the opportunity to explore this vibrant arrondissement that truly comes to life in the summertime.
Brocante season is in full swing in June, and several of these street markets have adopted a zero waste/upcycle spin. On June 5 the Vente Spéciale Mercerie leaves no fabric left behind with a sale of sewing bits and bobs perfect for the knitter, quilter, and craftsperson on a budget.

On June 8-9 head to the Grande Vente Solidaire Emmaüs, where you’ll find plenty of clothing, housewares, and other new-to-you objects to bring home. Money spent at the sale will go to supporting this 70-year-old charity, which will be celebrated later in the month during the Salon Emmaüs at Parc des Expositions Versailles.

The Fête de la Récup, which takes place on June 15, brings together over 20,0000 participants for this festival dedicated to zero-waste and recycling used objects. In addition to the bargains waiting to be found, the event also includes performances and presentations on the theme of sustainable living.

June gets caffeinated from the 22-23 as the Café Festival & Expo comes to town. The two-day event features coffee tours, tastings, and conferences all on the theme of café.

Rendez-vous June 27 at the Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile for an Afterwork des Producteurs, where visitors can enjoy drinks and locally sourced produce by Comptoir des Producteurs, an agricultural cooperative dedicated to providing locally sourced produce to the people. Taste natural wines and meet the people that make them on June 16 at Vivent les Vins Libres, an all-day tasting of low-intervention wines from various regions of France.

Paris Beer Week is back for its sixth year, promising craft beer tastings and events to please brewers and beer geeks alike. This year’s event takes place from June 8-16 and culminates, as always, in a Grand Final featuring international breweries and beer as far as the eye can see.

As always, June is also full of music festivals. Don’t miss this year’s lineups at Villette Sonique, Solidays, We Love Green, Festival du Parc Floral, and Fête de la Musique.
This month also brings the annual Paris Gay Pride Parade, as well as the Fête du Cinéma.
And not to be forgotten: the soldes, or yearly sales, start this month! This year prices get slashed in stores across France from June 26 to July 24.
