Last summer, the boys behind Le Perchoir brought eating and drinking in Paris to new heights, offering visitors and locals alike a never-before seen view over the rooftops of Paris from the East.
Le Perchoir, the first rooftop bar of its kind in Paris coupled with a high-end restaurant quickly became the place to be throughout the summer season.
I spent many evenings on their rooftop sipping their cocktails and natural wines, sunny Sundays filled with their specialty côte de boeuf and food festivals like the Paris Pop Up that gathered the it crowd of Paris food & wine. Needless to say, I wasn’t the only one.
The upside? This summer, the Perchoir boys are at it again with their newest rooftop revolutions- La Passerelle and Le Perchoir Marais. With two new spots in town, Le Perchoir’s trifecta guarantees fun summer times all season long. (And hopefully enough room to fit all the fans).
After a year of reflecting on the instant success of the original -Le Perchoir- I think that we can all agree with the Perchoir boys on one thing- rooftop-goers in Paris are looking for an escape.
Escape from the hustle and the bustle of every day life in the city, but without actually having to leave Paris. High above the rooftops, we have the impression of being above it all- with a bird’s eye view of the most beautiful city in the world.
Now officially open, Le Perchoir’s newest venture, La Passerelle, is like a taking a trip to Bali, without ever having to leave Paris. The concept of La Passerelle (meaning footbridge or gangway, like on an airplane) is inspired by far away lands, with decor coming directly from Bali and a menu inspired by the vertical Brazilian barbecues so popular in South America.
At night, La Passerelle’s drink menu is heavy on the rosé, as well as a well-edited list of classic cocktails, homemade lemonade and iced-tea, plus snacks, just enough to make you want to stay all afternoon and into the night.
In addition to their fabulous eats and drinks, La Passerelle is planning to host some top notch summer festivities, like a week-long movie festival under the twinkle of the Eiffel Tower, beach soccer tournaments, and other fun things to come.
As for Le Perchoir Marais, just opened last night, what better place for a rooftop bar than looking directly into the heart of Paris? This one offers nearly 360º views of Paris, with the only major landmark missing being the Sacré-Coeur – which luckily, you can see from their original spot in the 11th.
At Le Perchoir Marais, expect elaborated cocktails, bottled beers and some gourmet snacks, from 8pm to 2am daily.
Revolutionizing the way we enjoy going out in Paris, one rooftop at a time, the Perchoir boys will have yet again created the must-do haunts of the summer. But as always, get there early if you want to guarantee yourself a spot.
