La Fête à Neu-Neu (also called la Fête au Bois) opens August 29th in the Bois de Boulogne and continues until October 12. This full-fledged carnival fest is fitted with classics like cotton candy and a ferris wheel (and also happens to be occurring right near Haven in Paris’ newest flat, Victor Hugo Luxe!).

From July 31 – August 10 the Cinema au clair de Lune festival returns to Paris. The summer cinema circuit wraps up this month with this film series, including a screening each night in a variety of venues. Film on the bill span from Les Aventuriers (at Parc André-Citröen, 15ème) to On connaît la chanson (at Esplanade des Invalides, 7ème)

The Festival Classique au Vert began this past weekend, but continues until September 14th. This seven-weekend celebration of classical music returns to Paris’ Parc Floral, and each outdoor weekend concert will put you back just 5,50 €.

Festival Silhouette – hosted by the Silhouette association, a non-profit organization – kicks off in the Parc de la Butte du Chapeau Rouge on August 29th this year (and runs until September 6). The festival aims to promote short-format films to large audiences, and each screening is preceded by an apéro-hour concert.

Paris saved its big-name music festival ‘til last, with Rock en Seine returning from August 22 – 24 to make the end of summer a slightly less bitter one. This year’s Rock en Seine has a stacked line-up, featuring shows by the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Die Antwoord, Flume, Cloud Nothings, Mac Demarco, Lucius, Lana del Rey, and so many more.

Scenes d’été runs until August 24th and promises a mini weekend immersion into another culture, all from the comfort of la Villette. Each weekend’s events are focused around one country/area – like Cuba, Britain/Ireland, and Senegal – and offers concerts, jam sessions, cooking and dance classes, and a variety of other highly participative activities.

On August 17th collective Mojo Party is hosting Mojo’Arty w/Phil Dark x Jedsa Soundorom & Mojo Records. The collective commissioned eight amateur artists to create around the theme of “jungle,” and the public will choose which artist will get to show at an unnamed location in Paris. The day-long fest also includes photo exhibitions, film screenings, food, and concerts, all at Ground Control at Quai d’Austerlitz.

The swanky Peninsula hotel opened August 1st, making its grand entrance into the European market at a desirable address, 19 Avenue Kleber, the location of the former Hotel Majestic. After a $1 billion investment to get its doors open, the Peninsula has pulled out all the stops: rooftop dining, 3D home theaters, a fleet of Rolls-Royces/BMWs/Mini Coopers for guests’ use, masseuses, cigar pros, and six dining options spanning from L’Oiseau Blanc restaurant-bar-terrace to LiLi Cantonese Restaurant, to name a few.

The Bob’s Paris empire recently expanded with Bob’s Bakeshop, an America-style bakery serving up homey classics like pecan pine, bagels, bialys, and for a touch of local flavor, Belleville Brûlerie coffee.
