As of June 2, restaurants, cafés, and bars are officially allowed to open in France. But, only in “green zones.” Paris, which was a “red zone,” has thankfully been downgraded to “orange,” but that means only outdoor dining has reopened. And while I dream of sitting en terrasse again, so does every other Parisian, which can make it difficult to secure a spot – not to mention, many Paris cafés aren’t blessed with a terrasse. So, with parks and gardens now reopened, why not get yourself some takeaway and enjoy in the nearest green space?
Gramme – Square du Temple
One of my favorite cafes in Paris, Gramme, is offering seasonal salads, sandwiches, desserts, and coffee for takeaway or click-and-collect. Whether it be their famous bánh mì, pastrami bun, green bean salad, or rice bowl, take your meal to Square du Temple and enjoy.
Ten Belles – Jardin Villemin
You can get delicious focaccia or rye sandwiches, cake, tarts, cookies, and coffee to go from Ten Belles and Ten Belles Bread in the 10ème. Get your takeaway and bask in the sun along the canal or at Jardin Villemin.
Coutume Café – Jardin Catherine-Labouré or Invalides
This café is offering daily plates, pâtisseries, and coffee for takeaway or click-and-collect. And plates include grilled black tiger prawns with quinoa, slow-cooked veal, cod with red rice, or a vegetarian summer salad. Take a seat at Jardin Catherine-Labouré or Invalides.
Café Oberkampf – Square Maurice-Gardette
Get your hands on tartines, toasties, sweets, and coffee takeaway from Café Oberkampf and enjoy in Square Maurice Gardette.
Good News Coffee Shop – Square Yvette-Chauviré or Square Saint-Lambert
Aussie café Good News Coffee Shop is doing takeaway brunch, sashimi bowls, salads, and buns. Personally, I can’t wait to try one of their scones, with a flat white bien sûr. Park yourself in Square Yvette-Chauviré or Square Saint-Lambert.
SyLon de Montmartre – Square Louise-Michel
My favorite coffee spot in the 18ème, SyLon de Montmartre, is offering takeaway brunch and lunch boxes. However, for an afternoon snack, you can grab yourself a takeaway coffee and a slice of their delicious carrot cake or another sweet. Have a seat on the grassy slopes of Square Louise-Michel below Sacré-Cœur and enjoy the view.
Bob’s – Jardins d’Éole, Jardin Villemin
You can get bowls, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, donuts, muffins, and drinks to go from Bob’s Bakeshop and Bob’s Juice Bar. For Bob’s Bakeshop, take your goodies to Jardins d’Eole; for Bob’s Juice Bar, head to Jardin Villemin.
Chez Alain Miam Miam – Square du Temple
The famous sandwiches and galettes from Chez Alain Miam Miam are now available for takeaway. Take your feed to Square du Temple and dig in.
