Some of the best Tel Aviv food in Paris is served at Marais restaurant Tavline, with its powder-blue facade (left). Its dishes are fresh and homemade (right).Erin Dahl

The Marais has countless redeeming qualities, but a creative culinary culture isn’t necessarily one of them. Sure, you have solid falafel and pastrami and a handful of fast-casual gems, but it’s rarely the go-to ‘hood for the foodie set.

Enter Tavline. Steps from the bustle of rue des Rosiers, the cozy address is a hint of Tel Aviv in the heart of the Marais. Starters include cauliflower in a light tahini-pesto sauce and charred eggplant in a tomato and smoked paprika coulis. For mains, the house specialty is a must: Ktistsot daguim, which is tender grilled fish balls resting on a bed of creamy lentils and topped with pomegranate seeds.

Welcome to the Marais, Tavline. We’ve been waiting for you.

One of the best places to have Tel Aviv food in Paris is Tavline, with its slick contemporary decor of exposed brick walls and blue and red zig zag-tiled floors.Tavline
