From glass-covered canopies to cozy conservatories, we bring you our top 6 winter gardens for whiling away a rainy day. Indulge in an afternoon tea, cocktails, or just a coffee in the coziest spots that bring the outdoors inside.
Restaurant Klay Saint Sauveur
The winter garden of chic fitness club Klay has quickly become a destination for Parisians seeking a health-conscious haven. Full of lush exotic plants and hand-painted frescoes transport you away from the bustle of the city, while the menu is as fashionable as the location, serving up Los Angeles-style power bowls and taking inspiration from the latest vegan and gluten-free trends. In addition, the Klay Saint Sauveur’s warm Palm Springs-esque setting is sure to make you forget the dismal weather outside.
Le Très Particulier
The conservatory at Le Très Particulier, a hidden den at the Hôtel Particulier Montmartre, is a particularly romantic spot for a rainy afternoon. Deep red velvet armchairs and black drapes give the bar a seductive twist, and leafy potted palms add a touch of tropical greenery. As well as serving up craft cocktails, the bar also hosts a decadent champagne brunch every weekend.
The Bar Vendôme at the Ritz Paris
The large conservatory of Bar Vendôme at the Ritz Paris is transformed into an elegant winter garden once the cold weather arrives. Summer furniture is replaced by plush, red velvet armchairs for a cozier setting. Open throughout the day to enjoy all of the hotel’s gastronomic pleasures, it’s also the perfect spot to people-watch and soak up some of the Ritz’s old-world glamour.
The Hoxton Paris
The winter garden at The Hoxton, complete with a small but vibrant living wall and stylish velvet-clad furniture, is one of the most fashionable spots in Paris to shelter from the cold. Open all day, enjoy coffee and homemade cakes, order from the lunch menu at restaurant Rivié, or kick back with a cocktail come apéro time.
Le Dôme du Marais
Pass through the dimly lit corridor of Le Dôme du Marais to enter into a secret winter garden located right in the heart of Paris. Dating back to 1777 and originally the sales room of a former pawn shop, the building is now eclectically furnished with velvet banquettes and antique finds, while the leafy foliage and chirps of real birds enhance the garden experience.
The Westin Paris – Vendôme
The Jardin d’Hiver at the Westin Paris – Vendôme hosts two seasonal. themed pop-ups every year, which include a garden patio in summer and a covered installation in winter to offer guests a comfortable refuge from the cold. The menu also changes with the décor, taking inspiration from the current theme and the new bounty of seasonal produce.
