We wrote in October with tips for navigating Paris’ Marché aux Puces St-Ouen, specifically where to find the best in oh-so-popular mid-century modern furniture. Why? Because with more than 1700 vendors spread out over 14 different markets hawking wares from 1960s lighting to vintage copper pots, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the idea of a visit to this market, which is the largest in the world. But identifying what you’re seeking in advance and knowing how to find that item will make for a smooth day of treasure hunting.
In this month’s article we’re highlighting where to find luxury designer items of the vintage persuasion (think Chanel). Instead of being concentrated in one of the 14 markets, like the mid-century modern furniture is, these items are actually spread out over several markets, making it all the more imperative that you go armed with the names of some of the best stands.

For your Louis Vuitton, Des Voyages (Marché Serpette, Allée 3 – Stand 10) has an excellent selection of trunks, suitcases, bags, and small travel accessories (by LV as well as other luxury brands). There’s also a showroom in the Marais if you’d rather bypass the journey to St-Ouen.
English-run Au Grenier de Lucie (Marché Vernaison, Allée 1 – Stand 25) specializes in vintage costume jewelry from the likes of Chanel, Schiaparelli, and Yves Saint Laurent, from the 1920s on. You may even come home with a crown!
Both Mandana Vintage Paris (Marché Malassis – Show Room 71) and Artémise et Cunégonde (Marché Serpette, Allée 1 – Stand 20) are the places to find your Hermès, Alaïa, and Dior vêtements.
The markets are open Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 10am-6pm, and Monday 10am-5pm. Métro: Porte de Clignancourt (ligne 4).
