Just like everything else, Paris boasts some fantastic homeware stores. While I’ve always rented a furnished apartment, it’s become increasingly impossible to resist buying a few things here and there. Over time, I have gradually accumulated a small collection of decorative objects that have made my apartment more “me.” I dream of the day I’ll have my own place to deck out completely in the furniture and homeware of my choice. And when I do, I know where I’ll be heading:

Fleux

Top and above: Fleux.

Fleux is a trendy design and lifestyle store that has built a small empire in the Marais with six addresses on the same street. The shop offers a huge range of furniture, homewares, decoration, lighting and lifestyle products. As well as clothing and accessories, tech wares, and kids products, all from both French and international brands. You could spend hours browsing everything, which I often do with friends. If you need a break to get through all of their six stores, Eataly is conveniently located on the same street…

Empreintes

Empreintes

Empreintes is “the French craft marketplace.” Located in the heart of the Haut-Marais, this chic concept store spreads over 600m² in a light-filled four-story building. Empreintes was created by Ateliers d’Art de France, a federation that promotes fine craft professions in France.

Empreintes

The store stocks over 1,000 beautiful fine craft pieces that are entirely designed and handmade by craftspeople in their workshops in France. Empreintes is committed to only selling products that demonstrate mastery of skill and technique, are signed or imprinted by their creator, are unique or limited in number, and are naturally sustainable.

Jamini

Jamini

Jamini, the Hindi word for purple, is a brand that combines Indian and French cultures, creating a unique range of crafted-with-care goods. It merges contemporary French chic with artisanal Indian techniques like hand-weaving cotton and silk, hand embroidery, and wooden block printing. The brand is also known for its lovely prints, patterns, and colors, which feature on their popular pillows and quilts.

Jamini

Blou

Blou was founded in 2010 by two design, interior decoration, and art enthusiasts Julien and Nicolas. The concept store stocks a wide range of contemporary furniture, lighting, and design objects from European brands.

Blou

One of Blou’s three stores in Batignolles is dedicated to the renowned brand HAY, boasting the largest selection of their products in Paris. The brand also offers a small selection of trendy clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Blou

The Cool Republic

The Cool Republic is a concept store dedicated to design, both French and international. Don’t be fooled by their relatively small bricks-and-mortar store; they also have a huge selection of products available online. Located on one of my favorite streets, Rue des Martyrs in Pigalle, head down for a coffee at KB Café Shop once you’ve finished your shopping.

Maison Omani – Ali Postma

Kabane Design

Kabane Design is owned by composer, musician, and Montmartre local Bruno Linck, who also happens to be passionate about decoration. Linck aspires to sell products that aren’t seen in other homeware stores in Paris. He stocks brands such as Pols Potten, Broste Copenhagen, HKliving, and Liv Interior.

Maison Omani

Maison Omani

Maison Omani features homewares and decoration from Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, India, Nigeria, Syria, France, and more. I was surprised by how reasonably priced their products are. They have lovely big bath towels with embroidered edges that are 100% cotton and made in Turkey for 28€ each, and handmade in France porcelain matching espresso cups and saucers for 20€ each.
