Fête du Graphisme
The annual winter soldes have arrived in Paris and will be running until February 11th. Undeniably one of the most exciting times of year for fashion fiends in Paris, les soldes are the perfect time to pick up casual pieces at a great discount or splurge on a designer classic you’ve been eyeing.

Make a day of it and head to the grands magasins by Opera or some chic boutiques in St Germain… Or, even better, a mix of both.

There’s a new casual dining option on rue Saint Maur in the 11th. Balls Restaurant (yes, Balls) just opened its doors and is reminiscent of The Meatball Shop in New York. Featuring meatballs made of various proteins (and a veggie option, of course), sides, and sauces, this is the perfect low-key spot for quick lunch or dinner, and is open Tuesday – Saturday.

January 7 – 24: David Bowie just celebrated his 67th birthday, if you can believe it, and the Mairie in the 13th arrondissement is hosting the exposition Bowie & Friends until January 24th. The show honors one of rock music’s favorite icons, but there are also satellite events on the 14th, 17th, and 24th including a concert by Elliot Murphy and a projection of the documentary Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars.

Maison et Objet, and its open-to-the-public spin-off, Paris Deco Off are back thisyear, showcasing the best in interior design and decor with events on both the Rive Gauche and Droite running from January 23 – 27. With over 75 international design houses opening their showroom doors, a signature concert, and more, the 5-day events are not to miss.

As our world continues to digitize at an ever more rapid rate, graphic design continues to be at the center of communication. The first annual Fete du Graphisme celebrates this art form through events, exhibitions, and conferences around Paris until February 18. The docks at the Cite de la mode et du design will have 4 exhibitions running until February 2nd, Gaite Lyrique is hosting a film projection and a concert, just to name a few.
Paris Face Cachée & Paris Déco Off, Rubelli
The 16th edition of Faits d’Hiver, a contemporary dance festival in Paris, kicks off on January 16 and runs until February 15. Pieces by 10 different choreographers will be put on in 10 locations around Eastern Paris. You can find the program and reserve tickets on the festival’s website here.
Paris Déco Off & Chivasso, Manuel Canovas
Beginning the end of this month, those in Paris will be given the rare opportunity to enter into spaces and places rarely accessible to the public. From January 31 – February 2: Paris Face Cachee is keeping the locations secret for now, but check back on their website for announcements and tickets.
